Northern Connections co-hosted event, “Organize to Win
Workshop & Seminar” a success! Last month our Northern Connections staff co-hosted a workshop in Sudbury, Ontario on building and maintaining strong organizations for the long-term and how to advocate effectively. The workshop was led by Oakvillegreen Conservation Association, and was well attended by members of over thirteen groups from Thunder Bay, Sudbury, North Bay, Ottawa, Guelph, Hamilton, London, and Toronto. Participants discussed and explored examples of strategies and successes, and useful tools to make immediate positive change within their groups to become more successful.
"Natural Capital" E-lecture
Environment North held their AGM on May 4 at Lakehead University, and featured special guest Faisal Moola of the David Suzuki Foundation for a public presentation. Dr. Moola spoke on natural capital, the ecological benefits provided by ecosystem services in and around our communities.
